I have 10 acres of land on top of a mountain in Catskills Mountains, about 2 1/2 hours northwest of NYC. The land was damaged fairly severely from logging over the years, and I've been trying to restore it with native plants. That has meant putting huge amounts of logging slash through a chipper/shredder, building paths through the woods, killing off lots of blackberries, using big black tarps to clear areas for planting wildflower meadows, and planting lots of native woodland and meadow plants.
