I am brand new to gardening and have several obstacles: first, there is precious little sun on the sides of the house and none at the back where the "garden" was dug into a space that was formerly a driveway. Mature trees abound, and the area at the back is wet in winter. We bought some soil, and I am off trying to find plants and flowers that thrive in the shade and require low maintenance since I am not home much.

Challenging but fun.
