I grew up living with my mother and grandparents in a small, wooded community in Maryland. I love the neighborhood so much that when it was time for my boyfriend and I to buy a house, we moved here. (Actually most of the people that grew up in this neighborhood wind up moving back here for some reason. Twilight Zone? Haha)

Anyway, my grandfather retired early to take care of my grandmother. He had LOTS of spare time, so he had beautiful gardens on his acre lot. I spent most of my summer vacations spending time with him \"helping\" in the garden as a kid, which is where I got all of my influence. I prefer a natural, informal look rather than a manicured garden full of topiaries. :)

I started MY first garden in the summer of 2004, and have since added 2 others, along with a good amount of containers on my deck. I'm about to add a third garden this/next week. I can't wait!
