We have a 32-acre farm in the high mountains of New Mexico (elevation 8,100 feet up) with gorgeous views to 13,000-foot peaks. We irrigate straight off the snowmelt. We have three kids in our zoo (now ages 17, 8 and 7). We grow for market -- 25 kinds of garlic, 20 kinds of potatoes, veggies of various sorts, cut flowers, medicinal herbs. We have a half-dozen beehives, 3 llamas, 12+ goats, innumerable stinking chickens, some geese, a couple of turkeys, and a couple of semi-wild rabbits that got away when we were "doing in" the last of the meat rabbits from that project. Our daughters first word was "woof woof," if that tells you what kind of zoo this is. She can cockle-doodle-doo like you wouldnt believe.
