I have 5 acres on the Big Island of Hawaii, 25 miles from the volcano. No soil here, only volcanic rock/cinder. Its a challenge to garden & farm. I have 50 fruit trees, mostly citris & avocados, a few tropicals. Now Im looking to landscape & fill-in with ornamentals. Ive found that any plant that can live in zone 9 will do well here too.
