You are not the only one ........having a bad day, read this if you are?
Working on this 2 story house of mine, me and my 'reliable' mate were faced with a task of removing some old bricks from the first floor, would have been a heck of a task removing few at a time, so we fetched this brilliant hair brained scheme of a counter weight - pully system. We'd load the wheel barrow with just the right amount of bricks, properly balanced and secured to a rope that would go over a pully system down to the ground floor. I would stand on the ground and gradually lower the wheel barrow down, empty it and send it up again to be refilled. It was about 25 bricks we could haul at a time. Any way my smart alec friend must have lost count at some stage, and loaded a few bricks too many...I tried to haul it down but it was a bit too heavy.. at the same time my legs got tangled in the ropes, so as you can imagine up I went as the barrow came down,.... half way up I collided with the barrow, and half the bricks fell off, the bricks to body weight ratio changed again in mid air so I came crashing down again, as I landed the rope must have untangled itself leaving the barrow to come crashing on me. I am just fine except multple fractures, bruises and a massive dent in my ego. So you think you are having a bad day with your gardening, hope you feel better now!
