Moved here from NYC in 2002 & I love it here.
First thing we bought was my magnolia tree - have wanted one forever, but they don't do well in NYC.
Second thing we bought was 5 tons of rocks. Purchased from a man who dismantles civil war walls - so at least I have some history in my rocks. Put in a huge rock garden, 20'x55', plus all the other side gardens around the house. Was alot of work, but as long as we keep having hail storms - I'll keep buying the hail damaged perennials - another couple years, it will look great.
Told my husband, if he lets me continue - I'll plant the whole yard - then he won't have to mow.
