I am a mother of two, Tommy and Lauren. Both are in college and doing wonderful! My husband is a contractor and we also raise alfalfa and some cattle. I gave up my high stress job a couple of years ago. I am starting my own small business and enjoy volunteering on different local projects. This year I am chairperson for the Neighborhood Garden.

Nevada is a tough state to garden with our extreme temperature swings and hot dry wind. Sprinkler systems help and I've been working on a rock wall to help block the wind. Lots of work but I just love the look! Very english. Not many plants become invasive here.

We have had a pond for 6 years and will be putting in a stream in the front yard next. I have been growing vegetables in raised beds (square foot gardening)for twenty years. It's the only way to go! I enjoy all flowers and am game to try anything. My main focus is to add some shrubs so the garden still looks good in the winter. Also adding a herb garden this year.
