I am an avid gardener. I like more natural organic practices, but I do use chemicals when needed as a last resort. My favorite styles are cottage and blooming wildflower meadows...more natural things. My favorite plants are perennials, natives, blooming vines, non-invasive (clumping) ornamental grasses, wildflowers, heritage vegetables, bamboo, succulents, gingers, bromeliads, antique roses, water gardens, and herbs. My next project is to build a \"moon\" garden (night blooming things, things that smell heavenly at night, things that glow in the moonlight...and nectar plants for the night moths). Shoot...I like everything! If it strikes my fancy, I find a little unique micro-climate it will like and make a home for it. My own garden meanders & looks messy and overgrown, and I like it that way. I like hidden nooks and surprises. I garden to attract and nurture wildlife-- frogs, lizards, snakes, birds, butterflies and hummingbirds...and children! ;-)
