Hi My names Kat,
I love pretty much all plants and trees! I've done well with three orchids in the last three years so I decided to try a few more recently. I've also started collecting Japanese Maples. I have six now, the first two i received in dec of 2002. And I've been keeping a log on the results, the first two have leafed out and are doing great so far. I have read alot that I could find about these beautiful trees. All the nurseries I've went to stated that these trees won't grow here (Central Florida.) I know they need to be a consistency in the watering and careful placement due to light, heat, winds, and good drainage. I know the real test will be how these beauties survive the summer. But I've took on this and will do all I can to make it work. The log book is a way to help others in the south grow these trees. Wish me luck!
