I came from a farming background, but didn't start growing things until I moved to TN in 1987. I went to an Herbal Luncheon and fell in love with herbs and crafting wreaths from wildflowers. It's been non-stop ever since. I love Perennials for their low-maintenance, and profusion of color throughout the season. I think you would term my garden ecclectic, and we live in the woods, so I have shade loving plants mostly.

For several years now I've successfully gardened in this clay soil by using compost, and wood chip mulch. I get downright giddy when I see rich, black soil. My garden is my therapy and I snip & prune a little each day. It gives me a chance to commune with nature, plus my cats usually come to be petted and loved and I get to spend quality time with them. They love the Catnip, which is prolific this year from all the rain. They eat it right from the growing plant. Amazing!

I have a small rose garden, herbs, perennials, bulbs, and schrubs. Since we only have an acre I like to use container gardens and window boxes.

I do natural crafting and wildflower crafting. If you are interested in corresponding I'd love to hear from you.
