I'm a 30-something male, working at the University of Helsinki. I've always been interested in gardening. (Ever since I weeded the vegetable patch with my mom when I was a kid.) The first word I learned to say (that's what my grandma tells me) was 'kukka' which is the Finnish word for 'flower'. I live in Helsinki and have a small country house in the South of Finland. Gardening is a challenging hobby in the very harsh climate of Finland, but there's still a lot that one can grow, including cherries, pears and plums (fruit trees are my favourites). I'm also into dendrology and fragrant plants.
