I grew up in a small town in Tennessee where everyone knew each other. We always had a large garden and fruit trees. I inherited my grandmother’s green thumb and she started me early on the path to loving plants.

I started trading seeds back in the 80s in the National Gardening Association magazine and later in Organic Gardening. I’ve been a life member of the Seed Savers Exchange (www.seedsavers.org) for about 20 years now.

We own a 70 acre farm that has been in my wife's family for over 150 years. I guess you could call it a typical homestead farm. We have a few head of cattle, chickens, Mallard Ducks, Embden & Toulouse Geese, and Bronze Standard Turkeys. I have grown a few hogs in the past as well.

I live in: United States
