3 tropical acres, bananas (fruiting), ponds, hummingbirds, herb beds, veggies tucked in here and there, ornamentals, baby trees, not much shade. It is becoming too much to manage on a part time basis. I have an addiction to buying new plants without any idea where they will end up. Over-reaction to moving here to a bare big-a## lot. Looking for time/labor saving tips to get this acreage at least maintainable on weekends. Currently weedeating is a 3 day proposition. Mowing is now a pain around all the specimen plants and beds. Grass is taking over anything I do plant.
Mosquitos a problem, so am cautious about pesticides...my tree frogs, lizards, predator wasps, dragonflies all eat them. I try to not use chemicals unless absolutely necessary.
Besides the problems, it's very wonderful out here in Brazoria County, TX.
