I have very dry summers and very wet winters. In the summer the ground is hard and clay like, and the winter rains leave the ground very soggy. Therefore I do all my gardening in pots of various types and sizes. I have hardly any shaded areas, so drought tolerant plants that do well in full sun are what are look for mostly. I do however like the shade loving plants and have a few that I rotate through the yard as I find some rare shade spots.

I am a novice gardener, with little knowledge of the scientific plant names...and even the common plant names. Though I am making attempts to identify the plants I have currently.
