I've traveled a fair bit in my life and I've lived in numerous States and several Canadian provinces, as well... but I still love New York! I just wish I lived by the sea rather than a Great Lake, but like the Stones said, "You can't always get what you want..." I have a postage-stamp sized piece of land; the suburban 1/4 acre lot, so I'm always looking for ways to make the most of it. I have gardens everywhere and so many containers of tropical plants and trees that in winter, the inside of my house gets very crowded. I dream of building a greenhouse and I'm actively collecting windows and other needed raw materials as I find them by the side of the road after various people have gone through a window replacement on their house. I'm about halfway there, I think. I'm a collector of fragrant plants, unusual plants, and oddities, with an interest in all kinds of growing environments like water gardens, desert gardens, and my latest discovery; carnivorous plants as a means of controlling fungus gnats!
