My garden is my back yard in an exurban town on the St. Croix River near the Twin Cities. Gardening allows me to combine creative endeavors with my interests in natural history; I've been pursuing the use of prairie plants in a garden setting (as distinct from trying to replicate a natural environment) but am not a native-plant purist by any means of the imagination.
