I am 29 years old and have only been an active gardener since 1999. I have spent the last few years in an attempt to convert almost 2/3 of my 95'x 150' city lot into a "Garden".

I don't own any fancy equipement so everything I've done, I've done by hand. I prefer perennials and biennials but am becoming a fan of ornamental trees, shrubs and grasses as well.

My interest in gardening started with a bed of barely-blossoming irises, two packages of seed (Zinnia & Cosmos), and a Perennial Seed "Shaker Can" (the can was actually meant for 600 sq ft but I planted it all in a 20 sq ft. bed before reading the large red print on the canister).

I'm constantly making mistakes and in turn always learning something new.
