Born in England, have lived in France since the age of 23. Have recently bought a little chalet in the Vosges mountains (altitude c. 800 metres, climate continental, can be -15 with snow in winter, hot and dry in summer, tho not this summer. The site slopes steeply , faces east with a slope also to SE. Sandy, gritty soil probably acid, not very rich. I have great plans hopefully for a rock garden and maybe azaleas but for the moment I have planted small bulbs to give a natural effect in the grass and am experimenting to see what seems to grow there happily. It will need to be easy to maintain as I will only be going there once a week at most. I would like to have roses and other scented plants. In town I have some climbers(wisteria, clematis, roses, winter-flowering jasmine) as I have wall-space, but no real garden.

I live in: France

My zone is: N.E.France
