I'm new to gardening... in all it's varied and wonderful forms! My husband and I bought a house (pretty typical suburban plot) within the last year so I have lots of gardening opportunities ahead of me.

My garden ambitions include:
- creating a beautifully landscaped yard with perennial beds, shrubs (I MUST have a rhododendron!), ornamental grasses, and lots of gorgeous spring bulbs.
- growing a productive but fairly small vegetable garden.
- learning to compost.

This season I'm focused on the vegetable garden. My 'landscaping' efforts have been limited to hanging baskets and sticking wave petunias in some built in planters!
