I'm an urbanite who's pretty new to gardening, mainly because I finally moved to a place with a balcony, so I finally have my own little slice of the outdoors.
Lucky for me the balcony is large, so my plant population has exploded. I even got brave an made an outdoor compost bin and an indoor worm bin - yay!
I've been pretty successful so far with herbs and some grasses and flowers, but vegetables are a challenge.
So far, my fellow GardenWebbers have been my biggest source of info, but some other websites and the folks at Sunset Nursery have been helpful too.

Besides gardening, I also love hiking around L.A. and checking out the flora in its natural home.
