I am retired. A master gardener interested in hybredizing various plant families, Magnolias for instance, also bulbs.
I tend to try unusual things like grafting Campsis on Catalpa. It works, but is tricky. My gardening is limited by conditions. We have a high water table and can flood easily with sustained high winds. We can also have standing water after a few days of rain. Raised beds are therefor a must for many plants. Good soil is hard to come by if one wants to create a raised bed. Hurricanes can defoliate sensitive plants which requires proper placement among or behind buildings or other plants.
Otherinterests are singing in several choral groups. I also volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
We also fish whenever we can.
