I have a Master's Degree in Education. My family and I grow native flowers as a hobby and for profit. Our yard is unconventional as it is certified as a backyard habitat by Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. I recently found a nest of 38, 10mm dia. eggs in my garden. I contacted a state wildlife scientist who identified them as West Coast Banana slug eggs. We watched them for a period of two months and, when they hatched, some good pictures were documented for the wildlife department's archives. Little is known of the Banana slug and the info will be added to the continued study of the estimated 250+ slug species in the Pacific Northwest. CHEERS for BANANA SLUGS!
