My husband and I live in Charleston, South Carolina, one of the best places to garden. The soil is a wonderful sandy loam.
We are building our dream home, a lowcountry cottage, named Lavendar Cottage Farm. It sits on four acres of beautiful, wooded land, complete with a greenhouse.

My husband and I both love to garden. We grow lots of lavendar and pink flowers as these are our favorites. Some of our beds are a riot of color as we like the cottage look. I think we chose this look because it forgives overeager gardeners who want to plant anything they can beg, borrow or swipe. WE like anything unusual, tropical looking or vining. Our next project is to complete a shade garden.

When I "retire" from teaching in two years I plan on becoming a Master Gardener. This is a long time dream that grows stronger by the day.

I enjoy talking, reading and writing about gardening. What a great forum to meet like minded persons.
