I'm a complete beginner and just moved into a house that has a sad looking yard. We don't plan to live here very long, but I want it to look decent while we're here and to help the resale value if possible. The front yard is dominated by a live oak (recently trimmed!) and some sparse bits of St. Augustine grass. I just put in a small bed this weekend, so we're on our way!
