My background is in biology, botany, environmental science and horticulture, and I have investigated the toxicology and environmental aspects of pesticides in a serious way for about 20 years. I practice what I would term environmentally aware gardening with an emphasis on integrated pest management. Along with seeking out the newest plants for my garden, Im a devoted environmentalist with a particular interest in stemming the tide of non-native invasive plant species that have had such a negative effect on our natural areas.
