I enjoy teaching interested people how to garden successfully at high altitude. I live and garden at 10,000 feet in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. I have built a series of experimental gardens where I am testing the cold-hardiness, easy-care, performance and suitability of over 500 herbaceous (non-woody) flowering plants, including annuals, biennials and perennials. Some of the species are native to my region; others come from faraway countries with similar climates.
My garden is open to the public for visitation from June 1 to November 1 each year. There is no fee. A self-guiding tour explains many of the special techniques I have perfected over the past 11 years to make my gardening hobby an enjoyable experience instead of a chore.
I am very happy to answer any questions you may have regarding gardening. If I don't know the answer, I have a home library of over 450 volumes covering just about every phase of horticulture and am happy to research such a question because it will expand my own knowledge in that particular area. So feel free to e-mail gardening questions to me. If you would like to visit my gardens in person, send me an e-mail. If you can't come to Colorado, take a virtual tour at my PictureTrail photo website.
