Amateur Southeast MA New England gardner in part shade woodland setting. Finally learned the micro=climates, sun exposure, and soils at my site, so my garden skills have improved. Now I am trying to tie everything together. Plant Interest; hydrangea, vinca minor, rhodendrums, astillbes, lobelia, hellebores, red-twig dogwoods, bulbs. Season Interest; Winter gardening (NE is grey 6 months out of the year). Spring-- because then winter is over! Landscape strategy; focal points from windows. focal points viewed from road, and focal points viewed by footpaths to house. Goals: improved overall comphrensive design, to get neat finished look in the garden, to expand garden into woodland and bog, to have something in bloom all year, and to have all season interest
