I have lived in Japan for many years but unfortunately don't have a garden. I have read about them and paid attention and two years ago put in a garden at my sister's place utilizing Japanese ideas and motifs. It has "that mood".

I have only seen two Japanese gardens in the US (The Arboretum in Seattle and the Sister City Garden(?) in Olympia). I think they both failed because they tried to have a little of everything.
