we live in the outskirts of southern highlands in nsw - have built our little cottage on 1 1/2 acres and are in the process of making garden beds and orchards and vegie patches etc. have built a chook house and have a couple of feral chooks (not in the literal sense) that supply us and our family and friends with free range / organic eggs. our aim is to supply our family with our own fruit, vegies and meat (eventually) for the entire year. theres nothing nicer than being able to tell your children if you want a snack go to the garden and find one - just watch out for the snails.
