I am, like some of my plants, a transplanted New Yorker (Brooklyn). I now live in Central Florida. I was a major collector of house plants and when my hubby, son and I relocated to Florida in 1988, I had over 100 plants to transport. My son, who was 17 at the time, thought I was nuts to bring them all down here, but they were my babies. I could not desert them.
Needless to say, most of them ended up either in the garden or dead from the heat and sun.
I have become and orchid collector and have almost 100. I cant pass up on a bargin from Lowes, HomeDepot or Target when they have them on sale. My newest passion is Brugmansia or Datura. I received a trade last year of a yellow brugmansia cutting and fell in love with these majestic plants. I also have a double lavender Datura that is quite pretty.
My aim to to get rid of all the grass (weeds to mow) and replace it with plants. I believe its more fun to see flowers in bloom than grass. Come visit my website. You may find something you like.
