Welcome to Hydrangea729's Member Page
I am a college student and have been gardening since I was about 4 years old. It's something that has become ingrained in my life since practically all of my relatives and both of my parents enjoy the hobby. I grow a variety of things but hydrangeas take up more of my time, energy, space, (and money) than any other plant I grow. I have at least one plant of each of the four major American landscape species (macrophylla, paniculata, arborescens, and quercifolia) and have 20 or so in my yard + roses, lots of daylilies, asiatic lilies, some peonies, ornamental grasses, hostas, astillbe, viburnum, liriope, mums, iris, spiderwort (a plant that should be much more popular), daisies, purple coneflowers, creeping phlox, dianthus, and annuals everywhere else--especially marigolds, impatiens, and geraniums. I also am about to make the foray into serious attempts at growing crape myrtle trees despite the challenges. All of this in a small, suburban-sized yard of about 0.20 acres; the middle of June through the end of July is a real treat to say the least!
