I love finding "wild" plants in my garden and harvesting them.(onion grass, chickweed, amaranth, mystery green that is all over my yard and very edible) I also like doing the Eul Gibbons thing when I'm hiking.

I have a 10 year-old girl who is resigned to seeing unidentified greens appear on the table in curry or as stir fry (I made a chick weed frittata the other day-not bad!) "What's this? Spinach? (She hoped.) "It's like spinach. It's GOOD for you". "Oh". I also raise herbs in the summer and anything else that will grow in our small area. We just moved into a house with basically a topsoiless front and back yard. We're about a 75 miles south of Tokyo. No snow-and a long growing season!
