My husband and I bought a 4-year-old house with half an acre property in february 2003. In May 2004 we were fortunate to become parents to twin girls. We live in Western New York, and we had little clue about gardening. My husbands area is the lawn, my area is everything but the lawn. So far I have planted a couple of dwarf Gala apple trees, a Stanley plum tree, a Bing cherry tree and I have just put four types of raspberries and a thornless blackberry in the ground (April 2005). Nothing is dead yet, we will see what happens. We are in zone 5, very close to zone 6.I try to plant tomatoes every year, I order seeds, start them in late March and plant them out in early to mid May.
