I live on Lake Erie and we have warm temps for flowers later in the fall than the rest of the state. However, we have a late spring for the same reason - cold lake air. Presents a challenge to getting plants started early. Also, I live in the woods, which presents many more challenges with so much shade. Hostas, ground cover and potted annuals which can be moved are about it.
