My husband & I had an apartment in an old 3 story Victorian house on a corner lot. After 7 years I had totally transformed the large yard with plants, bulbs, shrubs and trees (landlord really appreciated it). Finally ran out of room and began eyeing the house across the street with NOTHING in the front yard. No trees, shrubs, flowers...nothing but grass! One day, behold, a FOR SALE sign appeared in the front yard. Bought it within a few weeks & began the transformation. My house is now surrounded 360 degrees with garden beds. Eliminated almost all the grass & planted a dizzying array of plants. Dear hubby decided I needed something to do in winter so he roofed the entire area between the back of the house & garage with lexan & "greenhouse" frame. We enclose it in winter & use gas heaters to keep it at 50-55. I can now grow tropicals in the ground year round. Now getting into cuttings & growing from seed. Can't imagine where I'll put everything if it survives. Perhaps start eyeing another house?
