My wife & I live in Houston, Texas, and recently bought several acres of unimproved (empty) land in the country, where we hope to build a home, and eventually retire there. Landscaping "large spaces" is something that I’ve always wanted to do, and look forward to. We need lots of large perennials, shrubs, trees, and groundcovers, to fill all of that space!

I’ve been a gardener for most of my life, having acquired the habit from my father, who was an avid gardener. My preference in plants is for unique perennials & evergreens. Especially those with large blooms, or strong fragrance. I don’t have enough spare time to deal with re-planting Annuals each year.

We collect and show tropical Hibiscus, and currently have a few hundred varieties. Now that we have more room, we expect to greatly expand our Hibiscus collection, as well as collections of several other plant species. (please see my Trade List)

For several years, I was the Nomenclature Officer for the American Hibiscus Society, and maintained the online registration database for Hibiscus cultivars.

When not gardening, we spend our spare time working as personal servants for Mugsy, the Yorkshire Terrier who rules our household: http://www.cyberdarts.com/Mugsy/, and Ranger, his Australian Shepherd ’sibling’.

SHIPPING: Please provide a street address to ship to. (no P.O. Boxes) Plant trade packages are usually shipped via UPS, as those is the easiest shipping option that I have at work.

TIME: Due to many demands on my time, packages do not always go out immediately. It takes a good bit of time to select and pack plants for a good trade package. I do always stand by my word, and will always make sure that you are happy with the plants that I send. But, don’t expect me to send trades out in a big rush.

EMAIL: If you post messages to me in the forum, please "UNLOCK EMAIL", so that I can Reply to you more easily. Otherwise, you will probably not hear from me.

For some unknown reason, GardenWeb does not automatically include User Names in their messages, which makes it hard to find & reply to others. Please mention your User Name in any email, so that I don’t lose track of your trades.

BONUS PLANTS: We have a large variety of plants in our garden, and I usually put several bonus plants in each trade packages.

I enjoy sharing plants with others, and believe that plants obtained from other gardener’s collections give our yard a friendlier feel than plants just purchased at a nursery. A lot of people have helped me over the years, and I’m always glad to "pass on the favors".
