Im a middle-aged former chef turned industry consultant. I come from the school of thought that great ingredients make great food and am an enthusiastic gardener. Im particularly fond of heirloom vegetables and am getting started with seed saving and exchanging as a way to build my own collection as well as pass varieties I enjoy on to others.

This year Im expanding my horizons to include a variety of peppers, Im building a small greenhouse to help me grow the long season varieties in my area.

Im starting to dream about renting an acre or two and giving market gardening a try sometime down the road, Id be interested in hearing from anyone who does this successfully with heirlooms for the restaurant trade.

Im looking for quite a few of the seasoning peppers common in carribean cuisine.
