Over the last 3 years I have been expanding my garden from one small bed to the entire yard (well nearly). We live in a 100 year old home that we are renovating a room at a time, which is much harder than I ever imagined it would be. My most beloved prize is a Clematis xJackmanii, that is in its third year. The beautiful deep purple flowers anchor that entire end of the porch garden, complemented by purple and white pansies, a "pincushion" plant I chose just for the lavender blossoms, and hosta that keep "Climby's" feet cool. My husband has named all of the major elements of our garden....Climby the Clematis, Rosie the Climbing Rose, Mickey the Mouse Eared Coreopsis....and so on......We are having a great time watching our new "friends" grow.
