I was born in Freemantle WA then moved to Kuala lumpur, Singapore, Brisbane, Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and now back in Brisbane at the ripe old age of 35. No my father wasn't in the services. He was a CEO of a multi national corporation. I am an Intensive Care RN, my husband is a Barrister. We have 3 children 12 and under.
All our gardens have been formal and designed and maintained by someone else.......up until now. Our lives were so work focused that gardening is being our togetherness hobby. We are trying to do it ourselves but our knowledge defecit sometimes means we reach for the cheque book. Anyway we are both total begginers with very little plant knowledge. However with the number of books we have accumulated recently we are gathering knowledge fast. AND LOVING IT. My husband wasn't all that keen to start with but all it took was a honda self propelling mower and a whipper snipper and he is off and running. we now have hedge trimmers path vacuums high pressure water cleaners....bags and bags of plant foods and mulches and compost bins boy he loves them too.....Did I mention that we don't have a hedge.
Anyway we are starting to see great rewards in the garden....especially our lawn.
