Grandma wrote the garden column for the Kansas City Star, and occasional articles for Horticulture Magazine. She became a personal friend of Eugener Boerner, who was the man most responsible for developing the floribunda rose. He would send her roses to test in her garden. When she remarried late in life, he provided the roses for the wedding. Mom was a flower lover also. I guess I've followed in their footsteps in my love of flowers.
