Hello, I am new to this site, new to seed exchanges and fairly new to gardening (this is my third year). The first two years I didn't have much luck with seeds so i ended up buying transplants at walmart & meijer :( . But this year I'm dedicating time to learn to grow everything from seed properly. I chose as many heirloom & organic veggies as possible. The more rare & unusual the more I want to try it!I just bought seeds from johnnys, SSE, & baker creek but I'm still interested in trying more varieties...
So far I have cherokee purple & gold medal tomatoes, zephyr & costata romanesco Zucchinis, broccoli romanesco, chocolate bell peps, red malabar spinach, moon & stars melon & tigers eye & sultans crescent wax beans ordered. Any other veggie seed donation than whats listed above would be GREATLY appreciated! Like I said the more unusual the better. organic and/or heirloom only please!
~ My Wishlist...is it Christmas??~
would include things like
Zucchino Rampicante (or pretty much any type of heirloom squash), snail flower or Caracalla bean, hollyhocks, any herb good for making medicinal (or just delicious) teas especially peppermint & chocolate mint, any herbs such as parsley, thyme, oregano, basil etc...
Also I love making my own pasta sauce so if you have any favorite tomatoes or other ingredients you use for that i would love to know about them. And I love cold pack pickles (especially claussen, mmm mm! )but I'm not very good at making them... I ordered some parade cucumbers to try this year, but if anyone has any tips on a brine recipe that's similar to claussen, I would LOVE and be ever grateful if you would share that knowledge.
I look forward to learning to properly save & store my seeds this year so I can trade with you good people next year.
~ May your harvest be bountiful :) ~
