I've always loved flowers and trees and plants, but have not had much opportunity to garden until now. I'm partial to perennials and annuals that reseed themselves. I also like growing things indoors, and plan to establish a grow-light garden in my basement this year.

I travel quite a bit, read voraciously, do some (non-fiction) writing, sing, dance (when I can find a partner--my husband of 30+ years has two left feet, unfortunately!), enjoy cooking (create most recipes myself these days) using herbs from my garden. I also enjoy good wines, both in the food and in the cook. :) I also enjoy politics, theater, (\"What? You mean there's a difference??\" they ask!) and stimulating conversation.

My daughter, who lives in Los Angeles, just bought a condo, and I am enjoying hearing about her endeavors to establish a garden in her little patio area that doesn't get much sun.

I'm looking forward to getting acquainted with y'all. (Yep, I grew up in the deep South!)
