Hi folks,
I stumbled on to your site and saw a photo of my giant wind chimes in Chico Ca. Seems like alot of interest in these things these days. As a hobby I'm fascinated with math and harmonic resonance and sound frequency relationships. Ive been experimenting a lot lately with tuning pipes. The nice thing about pipes is that once they're tuned, they're tuned forever. I started with small ones and lately I've been getting into really big ones. So if there is more interest, ideas, or advice or if anyone has seen any really nice examples of really big ones, let me know. Mine are made of 6.5" D, .25" wall thickness aluminum pipe that was salvaged from a high power substation. They're perfectly tuned to a pentatonic scale in D. They weigh @ 400 lbs. They are hanging from a big Silver Maple over a garden just up from the corner of Palm and 7th. Ave. if anyone in my area wants to check them out. Feel free to give them a ring. Gregg.
