I have gardened my entire life and it keeps me out of trouble.

Outdoors, I have a fairly good collection of dwarf conifers and unusual trees growing in my USDA zone 5a garden (per new 2012 USDA zone map). The deciduous conifers are unquestionably my favorite conifers, followed by the Firs and Pines. I have also recently been bitten by the Sempervivum bug and now have about 50 different cultivars/species.

I am forever fighting the bunnies, so if anyone has a sure-fire way of eliminating bunnies, please let me know. There is no longer any natural controls (animals) that control their population, so it's a losing battle. I removed 5 plants from my landscape this spring (2010) due to the bunnies damaging the plants beyond recovery.

Indoors, I have a fairly large hoya collection (that needs to be trimmed down) and a large haworthia collection. I am also partial to caudiciforms and aloes. I generally like any succulent plant. I'm not really into cacti at all.

I live in: United States

My zone is: Zone 5a, MN
