I am a beginning gardener that has finally got her own soil to play in! I had lived in Japan for a number of years(2) in an exchange program for my husbands work and then came back to the states to live in an apartment. So for years I could not indulge in my love of gardening. Finally my husband and I bought a house and now I can garden. It is a blank slate - all lawn and no personality. I know I have allot of work ahead of me but I am wholeheartedly diving right in. I am showing my 3 year old son the love of nature. He helped me plant bulbs just the other day :o) I am learning more each day about gardening and loving every minute of it!

I am having a ball with my new bird feeders this year and I am enjoying learning all the birds names. I had a beautiful cardinal that visited my feeder all winter long. I especially liked the woodpeckers who showed up for the suet. I am hoping to attract more next winter.
