Growing up in Northern Lower Michigan, ornamental grass was something I had never heard of. Grass to me was something that needed to be mowed once a week or another name for marijuana in the 60s. Ornamental grass was not in my vocabulary. Now at the age of 62, I find that ornamental grasses are everywhere, much to my enjoyment.

Three years after purchasing my first book about ornamental grass, my home library continues to grow, as do the 200+ grasses that my wife and I have planted. Im still amazed by the pleasure we receive from our labor and the magnificent view the grasses have given us. The grasses provide us with a landscape that is constantly changing. With a slight breeze we have movement and even on the most dismal of days the grasses bring us beauty and pleasure.
