I am 74 have 11 grown children, none of whom can tell a geranium from garlic. I have 22 grandchildren of the same genre. Ffortunately, my son has married a wonderful, craft and garden enthusiast. I am moving my garden from the back 40 to my front yard. I am making raised beds using logs, bricks, stones, cement blocks, etc. I do most of the work myself, but am not above stepping aside when I have a visitor and letting him finish mowing or moving rocks or what ever manual labor I am engaged in. My plan is to have the whole east half in paths, plants, a patio, gazebo, arches and arbors. The other half will be grass. I am a Master Gardener and teach a kindergarten class about nature. I love to experiment. I am currently propagating Madonna lilies from pieces of the bulb. I plant whatever moves me at the time to see what it will look like and move it the next year, if I haven't killed it in the process. Latest facinations are baby corn, garlic, leeks, grape tomatoes and herbs. I 've been rying to grow salsify for years with no success.

I live in: United States

My zone is: z6PA
