Northeastern native woodland plants are my hobby. My home garden of these plants has been decimated by deer and other creatures. I have decided to enjoy watching the wild-life outside my window and have moved my plants to a garden open to the public in the center of a small town nearby where many people can enjoy them. My plants, now live in a bed about 20' by 100' and are shaded by two large pines, five female persimmons and a tulip tree. The rest of the gardens of this historical home contain herbs, perennials, old time roses etc. as might have been grown by a family between 1765 and 1850, though the seductions of newer plants sometimes destroys our good intentions.
