We live on the Gulf Coast (Trinity Bay to be exact). I have 200 feet of waterfront that I want to naturalize, but am having problems with plants that can take the wind and occasional salt water spray. I don't worry about hurricanes, simply because all of my garden would be wiped out, and I won't be in town!

I am particularly interested in herbs for culinary purposes, a little medicinal use (aloe).

I have about 1/2 acre otherwise to landscape, and I don't particularly like grass lawns, even thought I'm sure to have to use them somewhere.

We are native Houstonians (and still not too far from there) and love to travel and see other gardens.
